Popular Limerick post office to re-open after short closure
A POST office in a busy Limerick shopping centre is confirmed to re-open after a short closure.
The post office located in Casteltroy Town Centre closed yesterday, Monday due to “circumstances beyond our control,” a spokesperson for An Post said.
“[We are] currently working to have the office reopened as soon as we can,” the spokesperson said at the time of closure.
Until the re-opening customers of Castletroy Post Office can access Department of Social Protection payments from Cecil Street Post Office in Limerick city.
“Castletroy post office will reopen on Wednesday morning at 11am,” the spokesperson confirmed.
Fine Gael and Castletroy-based TD for Limerick city Kieran O’Donnell commented at the time of closure: “I have impressed upon An Post the urgent need to ensure Castletroy Post Office in Castletroy Shopping Centre is re-opened immediately.
“They have given me the firm commitment that this will happen by… Wednesday, November 30 at the latest," Deputy O'Donnell said
It is understood that the reason the post office closed was due to the resignation of the branch’s postmaster.
Castletroy Post Office will re-open for business as usual on Wednesday, November 30.
