Popular Limerick student fashion show returns to the catwalk as future designers showcase their works

Students from the Limerick School of Art and Design will showcase their work in the fashion show
THE Limerick School of Art and Design (LSAD) is bringing back its fashion runway show after a nine-year hiatus.
The renowned TUS LSAD show will be on this Thursday, May 14, at the Clare Street campus featuring works from 31 final year fashion students.
Last held in 2017, the show was always a staple of the Limerick cultural calendar while giving suppliers and industry professionals up and coming talent to watch out for.
This May, the TUS Clare Street campus will once again transform into a high-fashion hub, highlighting the creativity of a new generation of designers.
The 31 students - emerging designers - are exploring the future of fashion and what we wear through four pathways - collection design, applied textiles, technology for fashion and sustainability for fashion.
Each student will debut up to four original looks representing months of late nights in the studio and a deep commitment to their work and art.

Anthony Caleshu, Dean of LSAD at TUS said: “The BA Fashion with Pathways students and the team here in LSAD are extremely excited to launch the LSAD Fashion Show this May.
“Our last show was in 2017 and we are thrilled to bring it back this year.
“The final year students are working incredibly hard on their collections and we are looking forward to showcasing the exceptional work being created within LSAD to the public and welcoming them on campus through the historic doors here on Clare Street.”
The event is a celebration of local talent, both on and off the runway. In a show of campus synergy, students from the business studies with beauty and spa management department will be backstage providing professional make-up artistry. Students from the LSAD Filmcel will also be capturing the event for posterity.
