Run for Cliona's 5K gets the backing of Limerick's business community

The business-to-business fundraiser will be held in Limerick on September 10, with all proceeds going toward the charity's work in providing financial assistance to families of seriously ill children.
A Limerick-based national charity, Cliona's Foundation, are preparing to host their third annual Run for Cliona's 5K fun run.
The business-to-business fundraiser will be held in Limerick this autumn, on September 10.
With an entry fee of €25 per person, all proceeds will go toward the charity's work in providing financial assistance to families of seriously ill children.
Jointly organised and fully sponsored by Metis Ireland Financial Planning, MHP Sellors Solicitors, and Forvis Mazars, the initiative brings together Limerick’s professional community – including employees from neighbouring counties – across local SMEs and multinational firms.
The event will begin and end at The Clayton Hotel, with participants invited to run a scenic 5km route across Shannon Bridge and along the Condell Road embankment.
On-site registration opens at 5pm, for a 6:30pm start, making the fundraiser an ideal post-work event for participants of all fitness levels.
Participants are also invited to stay afterwards for refreshments, light bites, and networking, offering a unique opportunity to connect with fellow professionals and running enthusiasts while supporting a meaningful cause.
Online registration is now open, with the first 100 registrants receiving a commemorative event T-shirt.
Director at Metis Ireland, Paddy O'Halloran, shared the financial planning firm's ambition to make the event a "long-lasting tradition".
"We encourage families, clubs, and especially local businesses to get involved by participating or supporting the day. 100% of the proceeds go directly to Cliona’s Foundation who help families of seriously ill children. Together, we can establish the fun run as a highlight of the annual calendar - an event that grows stronger each year", Mr O'Halloran continued.
Stephen Keogh, managing partner at MHP Sellors, said the organisation are "once again, delighted to be involved" in the fun run.
"On September 10, we encourage everyone to swap their evening commute for a meaningful cause. Whether you run, walk or simply take part, what matters most is showing up", Mr Keogh concluded.
