American firm has its European headquarters in Raheen Industrial Estate, where it employs almost 2,000

ANALOG Devices has been given an award by Limerick City and County Council to mark the firm’s golden anniversary in the city.

And to mark the occasion, members of the metropolitan district held their monthly meeting on the company’s premises at Raheen’s Industrial Estate.

Here, district leader, Cllr Daniel Butler presented Brendan O’Dowd, the managing director of precision technology and Limerick’s site lead at Analog Devices with a scroll.

It acknowledges the semi-conductor manufacturing firm’s long-standing contribution to the region’s economy.

Analog Devices is one of Limerick’s biggest employers, with an estimated 1,800 people on its books.

Its Raheen premises is the firm’s European headquarters.

Cllr Butler said: “Holding a metropolitan district meeting here is a rare and deliberate choice, and it reflects the significance of the occasion we are marking.”

He praised Analog Devices, saying in Limerick it has presided over: “50 years of commitment, of growth, and of partnership”.

“Over those five decades, Analog Devices has become far more than a major employer. It has been a cornerstone of Limerick’s economic development, a driver of technological excellence, and a steady presence through times of both challenge and opportunity,” added Cllr Butler.

Mr O’Dowd said: “Celebrating 50 years in Limerick is a proud moment for Analog Devices and for everyone who has been part of our journey here. What began as a small operation has grown to be one of our strategic centres globally and our European regional headquarters. This growth reflects the talent, commitment and support of our people and the wider community, contributing significantly to our global operations.”

He said staff at Analog felt honoured that members of Limerick’s metropolitan district chose to hold their monthly meeting on site.

“The strong relationship between Analog Devices and Limerick has been central to our journey over the past five decades, and we look forward to building that partnership into the future,” he added.
