Spate of personal property thefts reported in Limerick

GARDAI in Limerick have issued a warning to the public after a series of thefts of personal property.
On Thursday, May 25 at 7:50pm, a man in his late 20s went to the gym and left his bag containing his wallet and items of clothing in the male locker room.
When he returned after his workout, he discovered that his bag and the items in it had been stolen.
This man went to the trouble of using a locker but he did not lock it.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, May 27 at 11:30am, a woman in her 60s was grocery shopping in a city centre supermarket.
She had her handbag sitting in her shopping trolley when her purse was stolen from her handbag.
The lady said she did not realise immediately that there had been a theft so they had the chance to get away.
Sergeant Ber Leetch, Crime Prevention Officer Henry Street Garda Station said: "Gardai know that criminals are always on the lookout for a chance to take from people, do not give them the chance, always protect your property by keeping it on you or locking it up".
