A LIMERICK-based charity received a welcome boost just in time for Christmas - thanks to staff at one of Limerick's largest employers.

Johnson & Johnson Vision Care held a fundraising event for St Vincent de Paul, raising €20,000 for local families, through staff donations.

As part of the initiative, the company set up a stall outside the canteen at its premises in Castletroy on four separate days earlier this month.

There was also some live music and the event helped raise much-needed funds for SVP ahead of Christmas.
