Sinn Fein Leader Mary Lou McDonald attends launch of Joanne Collins’ election manifesto

DEPUTY Mary Lou McDonald has said a vote for Sinn Féin’s Joanne Collins in Limerick County is “a vote to change the government".

The Sinn Fein Leader was speaking at the launch of Ms Collins’ election manifesto entitled Standing Up for County Limerick at the Longcourt House Hotel in Newcastle West last week.

Ms McDonald said: “We are asking people to vote to change the government. To elect a new government for working people and communities led by Sinn Féin. The very best way the people of County Limerick can help make that a reality is by coming out and giving the formidable Joanne Collins - an Collins is fearr! - your number one vote.”

Ms McDonald described Ms Collins as a “difference maker” who is passionate about community, public services, the future of county Limerick and its people.

“She gets up every morning to make a difference for the people and communities of county Limerick.

“She’s a qualified special needs assistant. A community creche chairperson. A mother of four children. She understands the daily challenges facing workers and families. Community is everything to her. She is passionate about public services. She is on the ground every day working to make her community better.

“The manifesto she launches today is called Standing up for County Limerick. I think that says it all.  It is a comprehensive, ambitious, and deliverable plan to make this county a better place to build a future and raise a family.”placeholder image

Ms McDonald said Sinn Féin’s vision for a better future resonates strongly in Rural Ireland - “in our towns, in our villages, nowhere more so than right here in County Limerick”.

“Joanne gets the work of building a better future.  She gets the power of ensuring that potential is met. Joanne wants to go to Dáil and fight to make sure that the incredible potential of the place she calls home - County Limerick - is fulfilled.

“That is the kind of TD this county needs. Joanne Collins will be a TD who will never stop working, never back down, and always keep going to make life better for you and your family,” concluded the Sinn Fein Leader.
