Status yellow ice warning for Limerick

A STATUS yellow ice warning has been put in place for Limerick, with Met Eireann warning of "hazardous travelling conditions" overnight.

The caution, which also covers Clare and Tipperary, says there will be rain tonight.

Wintry falls locally will drop on already frozen surfaces, leading to further development of icy conditions for a time.

The warning took effect at five o'clock this evening and remains in place until 9am tomorrow morning.

It comes after another status yellow warning covering Limerick expired at lunchtime today.
