THROWBACK: Oscar nominee pictured at University of Limerick open day

PICTURES of a first-time Oscar nominee considering a future studying at the University of Limerick have resurfaced more than 30 years after they were taken.

The picture shows Cillian Murphy, among a group of other potential UL students, chatting with faculty at an open day at the college.

The photo came to light after staff at UL found it during their 50th-anniversary celebrations last year.

“Enormous congratulations to Cillian Murphy on his Oscar nomination,” UL said in a social media post.
