TLC puts out rallying call to volunteers for annual clean-up

MAYOR of Limerick City and County, Cllr Gerald Mitchell has issued a rallying call to schools, residents, businesses, and community groups to register for this year’s Team Limerick Clean-up (TLC).
On Good Friday, March 29, Limerick will once again unite for the event dedicated to sprucing up streets, parks, and neighbourhoods.
TLC9 is an opportunity to improve the appearance of Limerick city and county while instilling a lasting commitment to cleanliness in our daily lives.
Mayor Mitchell underscores the significance of sustained community involvement, stating: “Team Limerick Clean-up is unique to us here in Limerick and from its inception, it has been widely embraced, garnering community support and nurturing a sense of unity and responsibility toward our environment.
“TLC is not confined to a single day; it embodies our collective dedication to preserving the beauty and cleanliness of our city and county. It is a grassroots community endeavour helping to foster civic pride and environmental responsibility,” Mr Mitchell added.
TLC is sponsored by the JP McManus Benevolent Fund in collaboration with Limerick City and County Council and Mr Binman. It is spearheaded by Paul O’Connell. It is Ireland’s largest one-day clean up event.
Last year, over 21,500 volunteers took part in TLC8. This was made up of 568 groups, including 85 schools and 56 businesses. You can register for the event on www.teamlimerickcleanup.ie.
