TWO SEPARATE traffic incidents have occurred on a major Limerick motorway this Saturday afternoon, as the county is still under a Status Yellow rain warning.

Both occurred at approximately 3.30pm this Saturday, October 5, on the M20 southbound on the outskirts of Limerick city.

The first incident, involving just one vehicle, took place between Junction 3 Raheen and Junction 4 Patrickswell.

This incident was attended by two fire appliances from Limerick City Fire Station and one from Foynes, with only the hard shoulder affected.

The second incident, which was a collision between two vehicles, took place at Junction 05 Ballybronoge on the slip road from the M20 to the M21.

This incident was attended by three appliances from Rathkeale and Limerick City.

There are no reports of injuries from either incident.

The incident at Junction 5 has since been cleared, according to the TII Motorway Traffic Control Centre, however motorists should expect delays and exercise caution in the poor conditions.

The Status Yellow Rain warning for county Limerick is in place until midnight this Saturday night.
