UL HOSPITALS group is urging people to avail of further COVID-19 vaccination clinics for their children at clinics in Scoil Carmel, and also in the former outpatients building at Ennis Hospital.

These clinics will pop up again for children aged six months to four years and parents can now book an appointment to give children in this age group protection against COVID-19.

The first of the clinics for this age group will run at Ennis Hospital on Tuesday March 7, from 3 pm to 5 pm.

Clinics for the six months to four years age cohort continue in the vaccination centre at Scoil Carmel, O’Connell Avenue, on Thursday March 9, from 2 pm to 5 pm, and Saturday March 11 from 3 pm to 5 pm.

The National Immunisation Advisory Committee (NIAC), has stressed the safety profile of the vaccine, and advised that it will provide the six months to four years age group with extra protection from the risk of serious illness from COVID-19, and help reduce household transmission to those who are immunocompromised, or too young for vaccination.

COVID-19 activity is currently stable and low, but new variants present a risk of increases in the weeks ahead.

To help parents make an informed decision on vaccination for their children, the HSE has provided information online at the following link.

Guidance on booking your child’s COVID-19 vaccine appointment is available here.
