Volunteers are needed for Great Limerick Run

THE REGENERON Great Limerick Run is looking for volunteers.
Consisting of a marathon, half marathon and 10 mile race, it’s Ireland’s largest participation event outside of Dublin.
The Crescent Shopping Centre is sponsoring the volunteer programme again this year and race organiser, Sliabh Wells says without volunteers and sponsorship this event simply cannot take place.
“This will allow many clubs to raise much needed funds through helping out on event day. This collaboration demonstrates the strength of community that permeates through this great event.”
The volunteer programme plays a vital role in the successful running of the event with stewards and assistants located at the start line, along the route, at the end line and the registration location.
“The Regeneron Great Limerick Run in Limerick is a pivotal event for the city bringing communities from near and far together to celebrate sport and our fantastic city. This year is particularly significant for Crescent Shopping Centre as we celebrate 50
Years since opening in Dooradoyle in 1973,” Crescent Shopping Centre Manager John Davitt stated.
The Regeneron Great Limerick Run takes place on Sunday, April 30 and is set to attract around 14,000 runners, joggers and walkers over Riverfest weekend, the May Bank Holiday.
It is estimated that the event is worth around €5 million to the local economy.
