WATCH: Australian soap stars chat acting, hurling and trip to Limerick after sold-out fan event

THE TREATY city was abuzz with excitement for more reasons than just the hurling last Sunday as two former Home and Away stars paid a special visit to their adoring Limerick.

The meet and greet event, held at the Absolute Hotel, brought joy and unforgettable moments to fans who had eagerly awaited the opportunity to meet the Summer Bay residents.

The Australian-based soap stars Patrick O'Connor and Sophie Dillman, who played couple Dean and Ziggy, and whose on-screen chemistry has captured the hearts of millions, were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of Home and Away viewers.

The pair began the event by taking questions and giving answers, before the Aussie pair greeted each fan with genuine enthusiasm, making those who attended feel valued and appreciated.

During this time, both actors took the time to connect with their fans on a personal level, posing for countless selfies, engaging in lighthearted conversations, even participating in FaceTimes to those who lost out on tickets.

Not just an exciting day for their fans, the pair discussed their return to Ireland for the second time this year. "We can't get enough of this place,” smiled Patrick, who descends from neighbouring Cork. Seconding his sentiment, Sophie added: "Irish people are so lovely, and so accommodating and hospitable. We have had the best time."

Having added an extra date due to demand, the duo will see Limerick again on July 16, and tickets are on sale now.
