Woman in her 60s has bag stolen after she fell asleep on bus

A WOMAN in her 60s had her handbag stolen after she fell asleep on a bus.
On Friday, January 12 the woman was travelling on a bus from Dublin to Ennis.
A young man sat next to her and they chatted for a while. It was late at night and she fell asleep.
When she arrived at Ennis, she realised that the young man and her bag were gone.
Her bag also contained her bankcard that was subsequently used in the Thomondgate area of Limerick.
Sergeant Ber Leetch, crime prevention officer at Henry Street garda station said: "It can be difficult but keep your valuables on your person at all times.
"I also want to mention that when travelling whether train, bus or at airports criminals are on the lookout for a chance to pick pocket from you.
"They know that you will have cash or bankcards on you, there are queues and crowds so they may get the opportunity to get closer to you so stay extra vigilant."
