A LIMERICK student has been selected as a finalist in the Miss Ireland Teen 2026 competition, proudly representing her community on a national stage.

Limerick city native Mildred Prempeh, a student at Coláiste Chiaráin, is one of 20 contestants taking part in the 2026 edition of Miss Ireland Teen and is hoping she will be walking away with the title on the May Bank Holiday weekend.

She will compete in the final taking place on Monday, May 4. The competition celebrates confidence, ambition, and positive role models among young women across Ireland.

In addition to her involvement in the pageant, Mildred is an accomplished basketball player. She has represented the North Munster team and competed in the All Ireland Club Championship. As captain of her school basketball team, she has led Coláiste Chiaráin to Regional Cup success and a place in a Munster final.

Speaking about her selection, Mildred said: “I’m incredibly proud to represent Limerick in Miss Ireland Teen 2026. As a young girl, I want to show others like me that you can succeed in any space, even if you don’t always see people who look like you there. I hope to inspire confidence, ambition, and belief in every girl who might be doubting herself.”

Mildred entered the competition with the goal of inspiring young girls to pursue their ambitions and to feel confident in spaces where they may not always feel represented.

Open to females aged 13 to 17 years, Miss Ireland Teen promotes the same values as Miss Ireland, with contestants undertaking a comprehensive training programme covering areas such as social media training, social awareness, community initiatives, catwalk coaching, photoshoots, and interview skills.

Over the course of several weeks, finalists participate in both online and in-person workshops, with prizes awarded across categories including Sports, Talent, Eco Fashion, Top Model, and Teen 4 Change, which highlights their community and charity projects.

The competition will culminate in the grand final on May 4 at the Red Cow Inn, Dublin, where two overall winners—Miss Ireland Teen Junior and Miss Ireland Teen Senior—will be crowned. In addition, two public vote winners will be selected via the MI Org app, available on all platforms with free daily voting for users.

Established in 2023, Miss Ireland Teen carries forward the legacy and values of Miss Ireland for a new generation.
