A YOUNG Limerick woman fell victim to a scam where she parted with a significant sum of money for tickets to the Munster Hurling Final.

The woman in her 20s from Garryowen, saw an advertisement on DoneDeal for three tickets to the sold out Limerick v Clare game on Sunday.

The ad appeared to be legitimate and the woman engaged with the seller through the website.

She transferred €150 via her Revolut account to the seller but never received the tickets and she can no longer contact the seller.

Sergeant Ber Leetch, Crime Prevention Officer Henry Street Garda Station said: "If an offer seems too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true".
