'Abandonment of vehicles,' in this Tipperary village after heavy flooding

Shocking!

LATTIN NOTES:

Last week's heavy rainfall in the area caused the local river flowing through Cullen village to burst its banks and flood the Emly Road, making it almost impassable and forcing the abandonment of some vehicles which had attempted to drive through the flood waters.

In years gone by the Water Lane area was subject to flooding on a regular basis, but remedial works undertaken by Tipperary County Council had greatly improved the situation.

The flooding on this occasion, however, appears to have exceeded all previous recorded levels.
