The road between Goatenbridge and Newcastle has become impassable due to flooding caused by the River Tar.

Motorists are being urged to take extra caution when travelling due to a burst river bank impacting travel conditions on a road in Tipperary.

The River Tar has burst its banks and has made the road between Goatenbridge and Newcastle impassable due to flooding.

Motorists should drive with caution and avoid driving through the flood if at all possible.

The car park across from the Ballybacon-Grange GAA club is completely covered over in water due to the burst banks.

The news comes after a Status Yellow rain warning was extended to counties last night, including Tipperary.

Met Éireann have warned of the potential for localised flooding due to the high level of rainfall in the past 24 hours.
