All go at Thurles CBS with students competing in a range of activities

A very busy week at Thurles CBS were their students engaged in many extra curricular activities. Have a read below...
Munster Schools Cross Country
Congrats to 1st student Christopher Mills who qualified for the All-Ireland Schools XC following a great run in the Munster Schools in Tramore. It was Cross Country at its finest with muck, water and more muck, water.
1st year Gaelic Football double
Another great day for our 1st year footballers as our second team won their county blitz in Coolmore Morris Park.
The boys showed great heart to defeat Cashel CS in the final, after losing to them earlier in the day. Well done boys and thanks to Tipperary Games and Development for organising all the blitz days.
1st and 2nd year Basketball
Well done to our 1st and 2nd year basketball teams who had comprehensive wins against Rathangan on Tuesday in the league. Great team performances. Training continues for both teams after midterm.
1st Year Soccer
Hard luck to 1st year boys who lost 4-1 to CBS Nenagh in the first round of the cup, the boys had an unlucky first half but picked up the pace in second half with a great performance where Edward Bannon scored a brilliant goal assisted by his teammates.
Work Experience
Thanks to all the employers from near and far that gave our Transition year students a taste of working life over the past two weeks.
It really is appreciated as there are so many students looking for placements and its so beneficial for the boys in helping them to choose their career path and subjects for Leaving Cert.
Mock Exams
Our 3rd and 6th year students had a very busy ten days with their mock exams. Well done to all the boys over the massive effort they put into them. Hope they enjoy a little break after the hard work and study.
