BIG READ: Tipperary restaurant has been in business for a remarkable 23 years!

Incredible!
This week on the Local Business Promotion Series I am delighted to be joined by Pat O’Donnell of The Shamróg Bistro in Tipperary Town.
Pat, who is originally from Tipperary Town and his wife Breda, from Galbally, have been based in the restaurant for the past 23 years.
Pat trained and qualified as a chef, completing the City and Guilds of London in Rockwell College.
Pat then worked in the Glenbeigh Hotel in Kerry and also in Aherlow House and the Glen Hotel right here in Tipperary before opening The Shamróg Bistro on 1 Davis Street in Tipperary Town.
The Shamróg Bistro provides a wide variety of breakfasts, lunches, sandwiches, teas and coffees, as well as many delicious homemade desserts. Pat prides himself on providing traditional Irish foods for his customers. You can also ring the Bistro on 062-82847 to avail of their very successful takeaway option.
The Shamróg has a very homely, welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
This, complemented by a wide variety of fabulous foods, makes it a “must-visit” when in Tipperary Town.
Pat and Breda are aided in the Bistro by their son Patrick.
The opening hours for the business are Tuesday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm and on a Sunday from 12.30pm to 5pm.
Pat and Breda would like to sincerely thank all their loyal customers who have stayed with them and continue to support them over the years and they look forward to many more happy and successful years trading in their renowned Bistro.
They have always enjoyed great local support and they have a great country base who come in to Tipperary Town to avail of their services and to enjoy their wonderful food.
The very best wishes to Pat and Breda for the future.
