BREAKING: Controversial Rock of Cashel planning application on hold
A controversial planning application for a 28-bed hotel close to the Rock of Cashel is on hold.
A decision on the application was due today, December 19; however, the application status is now marked further information and on hold.
Marymount Assets Limited made the application in October.
A series of submissions were made opposing the plan, with top archaeologists and historians condemning the application.
They say the development would compromise future discovery and the site's bid for UNESCO World Heritage status.
