BREAKING: New Community Bus Service in Tipperary to be driven by gardaí

The 17-seater bus will be driven by gardaí from Tipp Town Station and made available to community and special interest groups on a book-ahead basis.
A new Community Bus Service was launched in Tipperary Town recently.
The initiative is being led by An Garda Síochána in collaboration with Tipperary Town Revitalisation and Knockanrawley Resource Centre.
The 17-seater bus will be driven by gardaí from Tipp Town Station and made available to community and special interest groups on a book-ahead basis.
The service will focus primarily on disadvantaged groups and is expected to be of huge benefit to many local organisations, as well as playing an important role in Community Policing.

“I am delighted that An Garda Síochána were included at the beginning of this initiative and this bus will be a vital asset in providing a service to the local communities in Tipperary Town and the Community Engagement area of Tipperary Central for the years to come. Providing this service will give us a great opportunity to enhance our existing links with the community and provide a service to those most in need. I wish to thank all those agencies who were involved in bringing this project to life,” said the Superintendent.
Cllr John Crosse, Cathaoirleach, Tipperary Cahir Cashel Municipal District also added his thanks to the project partners.
“It is wonderful to see this service launched, and I know it will be of immense importance and benefit to the local community in the coming years. I would like to acknowledge the efforts made by the project partners in working together to make this initiative a reality and I wish them every success,” said Cllr Crosse.
