Wow!

Gardaí attached to the Crime Task Force at Clonmel Garda Station observed the occupants of a vehicle acting suspiciously in the Cashel Road area.

The vehicle was subsequently stopped by gardaí at the Heywood Road.

The sole occupant of the car, a female in her early 40s, was subject of a roadside DrugWipe test which gave a positive result for cocaine.

Gardaí also searched the vehicle and located suspected crack cocaine with an estimated street value of €14,300 along with €3,800 in cash.

The vehicle in question was seized for no tax. The incident occurred shortly after midnight on Thursday, June 29.

The female was arrested for drug driving and, having been processed under the relevant legislation, was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs for sale and supply and was subsequently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The investigation was conducted as part of Operation Tara, the goal of which is to protect communities from the scourge of illegal drugs in line with An Garda Siochana’s mission of Keeping People Safe.
