St Molleran's GAA Club pays tribute to members playing on county teams over the past week and to the late Fergus Power

St Molleran’s GAA Club in Carrick-on-Suir congratulates the Waterford Senior Hurling team on winning the Division 1 B title over the weekend.

The Club also congratulates Gearóid O’Shea and his Waterford Minor teammates on their fantastic win over Limerick in a Munster Minor Hurling Championships match in Dungarvan.

Gearóid was very unlucky not to bag a goal but quickly followed up with a precision lay off to sharp shooter Cormac Spain who duly buried his shot past the Limerick goalkeeper.

Hard luck to Bobby Drohan, David Comerford, and their County Under 20 teammates who suffered defeat against Clare last week.

St Molleran’s GAA Club congratulates Hannah O’Neill, Anna Keating and Ellie Reade who all represented the club on various Waterford camogie squads over the weekend.

Special mention to Hannah whose Under 16A team will play in the All- Ireland Under 16A Shield semi-final in two weeks time.

The Club says well done to Conor Nolan and Alfie Finn, who represented the Gaelscoil and Carrick- on-Suir Handball Club over the weekend in Croke Park.

The Late Fergus Power

The town of Carrick-on-Suir was again shaken with the sad news of the passing of Fergus Power.

Fergus and his beloved wife Annamaria were always supportive of St Molleran’s GAA Club through their constant contribution to its weekly Club Development Lotto.

Fergus was a character in every sense of the word. He was a friend to everyone and will be deeply missed by his colleagues in Carrick-on-Suir Musical Society.

St Molleran’s GAA Club extends its deepest condolences to his wife Annamaria, children Cathal, Caolán and Sorcha, his wider family and circle of friends.
