CASHEL IS ROCKING: The St. Patrick's Day parade was as good as it gets in Tipperary

Huge crowds turned out in Cashel for the St Patrick's Day parade with the weather too playing its part as the large number of participants and spectators alike experienced a wonderful day. The theme in Cashel was 'Back with a bang' celebrating the first parade in the town since 2019 and the crowd enjoyed it.
"We love this and it is our first parade in Ireland," Caroline De Sliva from Ohio in the USA said of the parade before continuing "the highlight for me was the floats where people dressed up and everyone clapped as they passed. I really liked the float about sowing wild flowers for the bees and the feel for nature in a couple of the floats.
"If there was one thing I didn't like it was all the trucks and motors that were spraying out exhaust fumes on the people watching the parade but other than that the parade was excellent and I love visiting Cashel and am really enjoying my time in Tipperary." concluded Caroline who is visiting the county for one week searching for the home of her ancestors before continuing to Dublin to fly back across the Atlantic.
Among the participants were the local primary schools who claimed the prize on offer for their efforts on the day. The Harty cup winners from the secondary school led the parade and many of the local sports clubs marched including groups from Cashel King Cormacs camogie club who were well represented as well as Cashel FC, the local Jujitsu club as well as the Federation of Indian Communities of Ireland who put on a fantastic display of dancing for the large turnout on the day. The Sapthsawara Institute of Performing Arts in particular blew away the crowds with their fantastic display of dancing across the afternoon.
Maria Tobin from Cashel has been at the parade over the years and said it was incredible to be back at the parade "Ah we are delighted to be here and celebrating again. There were a few years we wondered if we'd have it back ever again but this year has been great and it is good for the town and for the parishes nearby that come in and take part or support it in whatever way they can. What a day it is. The town is buzzing." she said.
