The lack of GPs in the region is a huge issue. Dental waiting lists for children is another scandal. The state of the hospitals is a big one. The state of ill people passing hospitals in Tipperary to travel to Limerick and then having to wait. Then wait longer. It isn’t good enough at present so will people vote against the party candidates that are in Government or will the people make any connection between the politicians and the state of the hospitals or the lack of facilities in the Tipperary hospitals?

The traffic situation in Tipperary Town is one that is brought up in council meeting after council meeting but like Irish Water and the lack of it in taps regularly, it isn’t an issue solved. The state of the roads is an obvious one. We know too many have been killed by speeding cars. Barrenstown Cross needs fixing. The road to Cahir too. The potholes are as bad as ever. Add in issues surrounding drugs, immigration and antisocial behavior and you realise the complexity of the issues presented daily.

All these topics are on the doorsteps in Tipperary Town where Tony Black resides. He was elected for Sinn Féin last time at Martin Browne’s expense so could his place be in doubt this time with Martin’s daughter Molly Browne running for the party or Annemarie Ryan?

Jacqui Finnan is a Fianna Fáil candidate who will make a real go of getting elected and she has extensive political experience to run a good campaign. She worked in the town and knows the issues that affect people in the area. An outsider in the running, she may get votes from Roger Kennedy so will have a decent chance.
