CBS Thurles donate €10,000 to the Dillon Quirke Foundation

Each year we run our Fun Run, which helps fund extra-curricular costs in the school, and some years we make a contribution to different charities or causes.

This year the staff were keen to support the Dillon Quirke Foundation set up by Dillon's family since his sad passing last August.

Dillon spent six years with us in the school and was very well thought of by everyone in the school community. His family are doing incredible work to increase the awareness of SADS and to screen teenagers.

We were delighted to welcome Dan Quirke as guest speaker to our awards night. Dan spoke about the foundation and of Dillon, and his time in school.

We can’t thank Dan enough for coming to take part in the occasion. We were delighted to give Dan a cheque for €10,000 for the foundation.

We also have 480 school supporters jerseys in circulation with the foundation logo on the front to promote the wonderful work they are doing. We also presented Dan with two jerseys for Dillon's sisters.
