COMMENT: 'A staggering achievement as the dial clearly shifts in Tipperary'
The busy community news website tipperarylive.ie is powered by The Nationalist and Tipperary Star
The Premier County's leading news website tipperarylive.ie continues to break records, writes Regional Editor and Digital Development Director for Iconic Media Group, Darren Hassett.
The busy community news website - powered by The Nationalist and Tipperary Star - has seen exponential growth over the last few years but June of 2024 was a record-breaking month for tipperarylive.ie.
The previous highest-ever monthly pageviews total for the site came in August 2023 with 2.58m over the four-week period from a total of 540,000 users.
That record - helped by the Local Elections on June 7 of this year - was smashed last month with an astonishing 2.67m pageviews achieved across the month.
On Saturday, June 8, in the height of the Local Elections counting in Thurles, the site had its highest-ever daily total for pageviews, coming in at an incredible 231,000 pageviews over the 24 hours.
By comparison, for the Local Elections in May of 2019, the site managed 1.3m pageviews across the month.
In May of this year, without a Local Elections Count Centre to cover, the site generated 2.35m pageviews.
So, the dial has very much shifted for tipperarylive.ie.
This is an incredible achievement in just five short years and it reflects the continuing move towards the digital era in Tipperary.
The success of the local news website is testament to the hard work of our local teams in Thurles and Clonmel in the Tipperary Star and The Nationalist.
The platform tipperarylive.ie is clearly the number one online news source for people in the county and those abroad, with monthly users of over 600,000 each month - many of whom are expatriates.
We are determined to continue bringing the best local and community news to our readers - in print and online.
But, we cannot do it without you.
We look forward to your continued support.
