Conor Wallace, a lifelong member of Boherlahan Dualla GAA Club, was a teacher at Loreto Secondary School in Clonmel

Condolences have been paid to the late Conor Wallace, who taught at Loreto Secondary School in Clonmel. Mr Wallace passed away on Wednesday May 6, and in a warm tribute to their former teacher and colleague the school said that since joining their community in 2018, he brought “tremendous passion, enthusiasm, and dedication to his work each day”.

A history and geography teacher, the school said he had a “remarkable ability to engage his students through his knowledge, humour, and warmth”.

“His wit and good nature endeared him to students and staff alike, while his care and commitment helped countless young people to grow in confidence and achieve their potential. He took immense pride in supporting and encouraging those in his care, always giving generously of his time and energy”.

Conor had coached football and camogie teams, and guided the school’s Certified Angus team to national success. He was also a lifelong member of Boherlahan Dualla GAA Club, he played hurling from juvenile level, and also worked on the family farm.

“Whether it was helping with the Oklahoma Show, work around the field, preparing timber for the auctions, or supporting any club activity, Conor was always there, full of enthusiasm, generosity and wearing his trademark smile”.

“Above all else, Conor was a tremendous friend and teammate. His company was enjoyed by everyone and his kindness, warmth and good humour will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege to know him”.

Mr Wallace is survived by his parents Mick and Kaye, and sisters Helen, Bríd and Linda.
