Liam O’Grady Auctioneers has offered congratulations to Donncha and the team at Abercorn Construction as they wind down renovation work on Tipperary’s Irish House.

This building has seen many faces throughout the years, originally used as a secondary vocational school, and has now been restored to its original grandeur thanks to their hard work and vision.

Paul O’Callaghan, fromer Principal of St. Ailbe’s School, says that the buildimg was originally built as a butter market and commercial centre.

“It was subsequently purchased by Tipperary SRVEC and became An Céard Scoil. Noel McInerney bought the school and it became The Irish House where the first and last tour buses stopped for light teas. We are so lucky in Tipp that our heritage buildings are being cared for,” said Paul.

I think everyone will echo Paul’s comments about the Irish House.

It holds a lot of memories for so many people from school days to the wonderful service provided by Noel McInerney and his team.

The facade of the building looks really great and I am sure that the interior will look just as good when completed.

Well done to Abercorn Construction on this development and the one at the former Glove Factory in James Street.
