Cllr Jim Ryan raised the possibility at a recent sitting of Tipperary County Council

Tipperary County Council is open to a campervan site in Thurles.

Councillor Jim Ryan raised the issue during an update from the Economic, Community and Rural Development Section of Tipperary County Council.

Cllr Ryan said camping associations have lobbied him for a dedicated space in Thurles which he believes would benefit from a facility.

He said such a site has been provided in Clonmel and the Thurles district support his suggestion.

Director of Services for Economic, Community and Rural Development Brian Beck said they would be willing to work with the district on providing a facility.
