A Roscrea man who sells cars for extra money is disqualified from driving at Nenagh District Court.

Marin Ceban (33) of 14 Rosslands, Templemore Road, Roscrea pleaded guilty to failure to produce insurance on Church Street, Roscrea on March 18, 2023.

Sergeant Regina McCarthy told the court that on the date of the incident, gardaí stopped the car the defendant was driving and made a demand for his certificate of insurance.

When the driver could not produce it, gardaí instructed him to bring it to the garda station within ten days, but the time lapsed, and the defendant did not produce the certificate.

The solicitor acting for the defendant told the court that their client believed he was insured to drive the car gardaí stopped.

They said Mr Ceban is on social welfare and sells cars for extra income, one of which was the car he was driving.

Judge Marie Keane convicted the defendant, disqualifying him from driving for two years and fining him €250.
