COURT: Templetuohy farmer’s conviction withdrawn

A Templetuohy farmer who was given a driving ban in May has had his conviction withdrawn.
Luke Larkin, 65, of Tullow, Templetuohy, was convicted of drunk driving by Thurles District Court.
‘HUMAN ERROR’
However, this week, Inspector James White of Thurles Garda Station told the court that “human error” led to Mr Larkin’s case becoming a court matter.
He said Mr Larkin should have been issued a fixed penalty notice.
Judge Elizabeth MacGrath said there are conditions under which that would not have been appropriate.
However, Inspector White said those conditions had not been met.
