'Devoted to his wife and six children,' Tipperary man passes away in his 91st year

Rest in Peace
The death occurred on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel, of Paddy Toomey late of Meldrum, Cashel.
He was in his 91st year having enjoyed the celebrations for his 90th birthday last July among family, neighbours and friends.
He was a native of Moycarkey and in the late 1960s he came to Dualla where he was engaged in spreading lime for farmers with his tractor and spreader.
He was a diligent worker and on marrying Diane Kerwick from Ballingarry, his life was devoted in supporting his wife and six children.
In his adopted parish, he was a good neighbour, a loyal friend and a dependable worker. He enjoyed attending GAA matches, social dancing and meeting up with friends.
Family was very important to Paddy, but above all as a man of steadfast faith he attended church related activities up to a relatively short time before his passing.
When ill health set in he was lovingly supported by Diane and family.
He was predeceased by his sister Betsi Heffernan, Dualla, Nellie Darmody, Cashel and by Denis and Mary. On Sunday, January 22nd, his remains were reposing in the residence of his son Pat in Meldrum and on the following day in the Church of Our Lady of Fatima, Dualla.
His Requiem Mass was celebrated by Fr. Joe Egan PP and assisted by Fr. Tom Dunne PP Murroe.
Burial took place in adjoining cemetery.
