Who knew that there is a pub in Atlanta, Georgia called Limerick Junction?

Founded in 1988, Limerick Junction Pub in Virginia-Highland is proud to be Atlanta’s oldest Irish bar.

The name comes from Atlanta’s history as a railroad terminal and the fact that Limerick Junction is a rail stop much like the Va-Hi neighbourhood.

A railroad theme is prevalent throughout the pub, from the antique signal lights to luggage above the windows.

Original partners, Irish antique dealers Sean Nally and John Sadlier brought a slice of Ireland into Atlanta.

Sean and John brought authentic pieces from Ireland into the pub, the school benches in the windows are turn of the century while the bar itself is an old wardrobe, the doors of which are the mirrors on the wall.
