Minister Byrne has confirmed the total funding being award to clubs who applied for ‘Equipment Only’ grants under the current round of funding. Clubs who applied for ‘Capital’ or ‘Capital and Equipment’ grants will received confirmation on the applications at a later date.
Speaking on this today, Ryan O’Meara said: “I am delighted to welcome funding for both Nenagh Celtic FC and Riverdale Pitch and Put under the Department of Sport’s Equipment Grants.
“I would like to thank Minister Byrne for working with Deputy Jackie Cahill and I on both of these applications.
“Minister Byrne met with the committee of Nenagh Celtic FC, and Jackie Cahill TD and I last September to discuss their application when he visited Nenagh with me.
“Nenagh Celtic have been awarded €31,940 and Riverdale Pitch and Put have been approved for €40,000 under this round of funding. This investment will make a real difference to both of these clubs and I really appreciate Minister Byrne’s work on these applications.
“I would like to congratulate all local clubs on their successful applications.
“It takes a huge amount of work for a club to put a strong application together and major credit is due to the volunteers of both clubs for their efforts.
“I would also like to thank Jackie Cahill T.D. for working with us on both applications and supporting this work.
“Clubs that applied for ‘Capital Only’ or a mix of ‘Capital and Equipment’ grants will receive word on their applications at a later date.”
