Bunscoil na Cathrach had two fun-filled sports days recently.
Junior Infants, Senior Infants, first and second class had their sports day first and third to sixth classes had theirs last week.
The two special classes attended both days as they enjoy them so much.
The sixth-class pupils and their teachers helped out at the stations on the Junior Day and helped the day run smoothly and be such a success.
A big thank you goes to all the staff that cooperated in making the days fun and enjoyable for the children.
The children had lots of different activities to participate in during the day. They had nine different stations and the classes moved from one to the next. Volleyball and badminton were played in the Hall.
All the children loved the parachute activities and lots of laughter could be heard coming from this area. In the basketball court dodge ball, tag rugby and basketball took place.
The children loved the water station and racing to fill the jug with water using a sponge or a cup. Of course, the water balloons were very popular. The target throw area had some serious competitors vying for top spot.
The netting in the obstacle course proved difficult for some. In the rear basketball court were 5 different timed activities including connect 4.
The children had a choice of scoops and balls or hockey at the next station. With such a variety of activities there was something for everyone and everyone had a great time.
