Indian community wins first prize at St Patrick's Day parade in this town in Tipperary
A proud occasion for everyone involved
The Malayalees in South Tipperary (MIST) have reached a new milestone by securing first prize in this year’s Clonmel St Patrick’s Day Parade. This well-deserved victory is a reflection of their dedication, creativity and strong community spirit, which shone brightly on this grand occasion.
With an electrifying presence at the parade, MIST’s vibrant display was a true celebration of Kerala’s rich cultural heritage. From mesmerising traditional attire to energetic performances, rhythmic beats and a beautifully designed float, the group left a lasting impression on both judges and spectators. Their participation not only brought an international flair to the event but also reinforced the unity and inclusiveness that St Patrick’s Day symbolises.
This achievement marks a significant recognition of the Malayalee community’s growing influence and contribution to south Tipperary. Over the years, MIST has played a crucial role in fostering cultural exchange, strengthening community bonds and enriching the local social fabric. Their continued success is a testament to the hard work and passion of its members, who have embraced Clonmel as their home while keeping their heritage alive.
Beyond just a win, this moment symbolises the unity, perseverance and shared joy of the MIST family and the broader community. It’s a proud occasion for everyone involved and a stepping stone toward even greater community engagement.
Riding high on this success, MIST is now gearing up for its next grand celebration—MIST Clonmel SummerFest 2025, set to take place on July 12 at Powerstown Park Racecourse, Clonmel. This event promises to be a spectacular fusion of music, dance, cultural performances, delicious food and family-friendly entertainment.
As MIST continues its journey of giving back to the community, this latest victory adds to its growing legacy. Congratulations to MIST for this outstanding achievement—a moment of pride, celebration, and inspiration for all.
