LATEST: Puppies rescued from heavy duty cement bag in Tipperary miraculously survive

Miraculous survival of eight tiny puppies found in Tipperary now living their best lives
You might remember when Senior ISPCA Inspector Alice Lacey responded to an urgent call for help, about several new-born puppies found inside a white cement bag on a forest walk by a hiker with her children in Tipperary.
On Friday, June 2, thirteen collie pups were found inside a white cement bag on a forest walk by a hiker and her children.
In a lonely forest, the woman out walking heard the faintest whimpers coming from a heavy-duty cement bag and she found a litter of puppies inside.
Sadly, five had passed away. But this amazing animal lover then emptied her rucksack, gently placing the surviving pups inside.
She then made an urgent call to the ISPCA National Animal Cruelty Helpline on 0818 515 515.
Senior Inspector Alice Lacey responded immediately, and the pups were in the vets within the hour.

A miracle, which could not have happened without that kind-hearted woman who found them and the wonderful team at City Vets in Waterford - all eight pups made it through the first critical 48 hours.
They thrived in pairs under the loving care of ISPCA Donegal, KWWSPCA, Carlow SPCA, ISPCA inspectors and kind foster homes who also helped so huge thanks to everyone involved.
The ISPCA said in a statement: "It's heart-warming when we receive updates from our adopters to see how the animals we rescue are thriving with their new families, living their best lives, so loved and cared for. Thank you!
"When you support to the ISPCA you are enabling our Animal Welfare Inspectors to continue rescuing the animals in need and helping to keep our Rescue Centres open 365 days of the year."
