Water supply is returning to normal for impacted customers on the Templetney, following a burst along the network.

Customers may also experience short-term discolouration to their supply.

Alternative water supplies will remain in place until today – Friday, Januarym 3, in the form of bulk tankers, which can be accessed at Redmondstown Cottages.

Uisce Éireann’s Colin Cunningham said: “We acknowledge the inconvenience caused by interruptions to the water supply and very much appreciate the community’s co-operation while our crews worked to carry out the repairs and restore suppy”.

“We are appealing to customers to check for leaks in the home and carry out necessary leak repairs to prevent avoidable loss of water. We are also asking farmers to check their service pipes, drinking troughs and outbuildings asking the public for their support to help reduce overall demand by conserving water.”
