Lecture series launched by the Tipperary Museum of Hidden History

Launch of 21024/2025 annual lecture
Tipperary Museum is pleased to announce the launch of its 2024/2025 annual lecture.
The 12th series of lectures organised by the museum will focus this year on the economic, social, political and cultural transformation of Ireland from 1960 – 2000. A Quiet Revolution: Ireland 1960 -2000 will see local, national and international historians, academics and politicians present one-hour lectures on areas of relevance to this sometimes gradual and sometimes explosive change in areas such as education, economic policy, church state relations, media and emigration.
The series will commence on Saturday November 9 at 10.30am.
Admission to the lectures is €10 on the door. Lectures are held one Saturday a month in The Council Chamber, County Hall, Clonmel.
In an addition to this year’s schedule the January lecture will actually be a one-day seminar, which will be held in TUS Campus, Thurles on Saturday January 18 January 2025. Three keynote speakers Professor Diarmaid Ferriter, Dr Martin Mansergh and Professor John Horgan will address the audience followed by a session with questions from the audience, moderated by Pat Leahy, political editor of The Irish Times.
