On last night's episode of 'Raised by the Village', we saw Dublin teen Josh learn a lot of life lessons in Tipperary.

In this week's episode of ‘Raised by the Village’ gaming obsessed Josh from Dublin is transplanted to the village of Dundrum, Tipperary for a new tech-free, outdoor life at The Crowe Family Farm. Living on the farm are parents JP and Aileen, and children Saoirse and Seán.

13-year-old Josh lands slap bang in the middle of the Crowe family’s pre-Christmas turkey rearing season. It’s a stark lesson in farm family values as Josh struggles to keep up with his new hectic real-life work schedule.

In the episode we see Josh slowly warm to Tipperary towards the end, after helping feed the turkeys on the farm, he helps local postwoman Kitty deliver 500 letters to homes across Dundrum and Knockavilla. Although it’s a tough task, Josh learns that human connection is important in these rural communities.

Josh makes the comparison between his life in Dublin and his new life in Tipp. “In Dublin they don’t really have the chats like here.” says Josh.

After a gruelling day helping community worker Joe clean up the local graveyard, Josh learns the importance of helping the community. At the end of the episode we see Josh help out at a fundraising tractor run event, where he really comes out of his shell. Put in charge of the barbeque, Josh still thinks he’s in his familiar Dublin surroundings saying he will keep an eye on the cans at the Knockavilla tractor run as there’s ‘robbers everywhere in Dublin.’

Ending the episode, Josh muses that “In Dublin everyone judges, it’s a tough world. Over here they make it slightly nicer. I thought everyone out here, from the countryside, would think they’re better than you but no, it’s the opposite way. In Dublin everyone is so hard and tough so I’m very surprised everyone here is so accepting. I love it out here in the countryside.

On heading back to Dublin Josh says he feels he’s learned a lot of things from his time in Tipperary. Josh has such a lovely time with the Crowe family in Tipperary, he even visits them again since the airing of this episode.
