LIVE: Works to begin this June on town park project in Tipperary

Works will begin this June on the town park project which aims to connect the Rock of Cashel with Cashel town centre.
In a statement released on social media today, local Fine Gael councillor Declan Burgess has confirmed the good news for Tipperary, that work will begin soon on Cashel Town Park.
In the statement the councillor said: "I am delighted to confirm contractors will be on site in early June to progress the Cashel Town Park project.
"This project has been my main focus as a County Councillor and I thrilled that work will commence in the coming weeks.
"This space is going to be well used by the community of Cashel & wider area. I intend to provide further updates in due course.
"Thanks again to the Project Engineer and Tipperary County Council for working with me to date."
The project is set in the green fields connecting the Rock of Cashel to the town centre and will incorporate the Bishop's Walk Trail.
Cllr Burgess went on to say "This immersive outdoor recreation area will act as a bridge between our town centre and the famous Rock of Cashel. Works include gravel walkways, a boardwalk, reinforced grass paths, landscaping, natural play elements, fencing, seating and signage."
