Mayor of Clonmel launches annual appeal to support the most needy in the community
The Mayor Of Clonmel Cllr Richie Molloy has appealed to his fellow citizens to make it a brighter Christmas for those most in need.
The Mayor appealed to both businesses and people of the district to give what they can to this year’s Mayors Fund .
All contributions should be sent to Clonmel Borough District Office, Civic Offices, Tipperary County Council, Clonmel and marked Mayors Fund.

The Mayor went on to say that the Mayor’s Fund has been a great tradition started many years ago and has helped thousands of people and organisations over those years.
Mayor Molloy thanked the people of the district for their ongoing generosity over the years and said this year with the cost of living crisis very evident to us all , it was vital we as a society helped those in the most need.
He said that many people were suffering from hidden poverty and the Mayor encouraged people to seek support if needed and he will be distributing the funds raised through the Society of St Vincent De Paul and other local charities.
“With weeks to go between now and Christmas, people are busy preparing to celebrate this time with their families and loved ones. This year however, the impact of the rising cost of living which is deepening by the day and the continuing impact of COVID-19 on people’s health, lifestyles and livelihoods has resulted in a greater number of people in our community struggling to meet the additional costs associated with providing for themselves, their family and their loved ones at this time. To this end, and in the knowledge that we are in unprecedented times I am appealing to the people of the District to give what you can to this year’s Mayor’s Fund in order to make it a brighter Christmas for those most in need in our community,” said Mayor Molloy.
All monies raised will be allocated to nominated local charities within the Clonmel Borough District.
