MINOR CAMOGIE: Tipp back on track after a convincing championship win over Dublin

Tipperary 2-17 Dublin 0-5

Tipperary hit the right note with a comprehensive display against Dublin in the Electric Ireland Minor All-Ireland Camogie Championship at the Abbotstown centre this afternoon. Their manager John Ryan will be mighty pleased with the determination and skill they showed against a Dublin team that ran out of ideas in the second half.

The Tipp team travel back home this evening knowing they are back on track in their campaign. Showing great character to respond in a positive manner to losing a close game against Kilkenny last time out in Thomastown, this well coached side proved they are made of quality and are now beginning to hurl with real purpose.

After a close first half, Tipp led a low scoring game by four points and in the second half pushed on hitting two goals along with some quality points. Leading 0-6 to 0-2 at the break, Tipp put distance between the teams with a goal fired to the net by Emer Dwan to go 1-6 to 0-3 clear and from there John Ryans side didn't relent but instead pushed on and ensured Dublin had no way back into the game.

A second goal, this time from Lucy Purcell, put Tipp 2-8 to 0-4 clear and from there they ran out out 18 point winners in a convincing display of class that proves they are real contenders.
