Munster and All-Ireland Cups visit the CBS Thurles

This week the cups won by some of our students with Tipperary GAA visited the school. We had the Irish Press Cup and the John Doyle Cup that the minors won as well as the JJ Kennelly Munster U20 Cup.
In May, we marked the Munster final victories with a big celebration in the James O’Donoghue sports hall but we wanted to give our first year students the opportunity to honour the boys in school that were on those panels.
We had 11 boys on the Tipp minor hurling panel that won the All-Ireland and 12 pupils and past pupils on the U20 panel, 3 of which are in sixth year.
Mr Kelly and Mr O’Donnell spoke about the boy's achievements and the journey they went on this year and the long road to get there. They complimented the huge body of work all clubs are doing to give the boys these opportunities.
John O’Loughlin came in and tookbeautiful photos of the boys on the stage as well as photos with some of the younger boys in the school from their areas or clubs. Thanks to John for all his support.
