New dementia support group starting in Tipperary

Dementia Friendly Thurles

We are community dementia champions and facilitators of the monthly memory café held in Bookworm Bookshop, Liberty square, Thurles.

We will deliver Support Group meetings for caregivers every Thursday in the Day Hospital within the Community Hospital of the Assumption, Thurles, commencing Thursday, January 25 2024, and every Thursday, thereafter until February 29 2024, with a focus on; self-care, connecting with feelings, validation therapy/techniques, ethical dilemmas and the importance of medication compliance.

A safe place to discuss, support, listen and understand the different roles played by families/friends of loved ones caring for people living with Dementia.

Location : Day Hospital, CHOA, Thurles

Time: 1pm-2pm every Thursday.
