Facility at Nijinsky Park offers fitness, classes and space for all ages to connect

A new Gym and Wellness centre has been officially opened at Nijinsky Park in Rosegreen, marking a major milestone in the ongoing development of the local community centre.

The facility was formally opened at a large event attended by members of the local community and invited guests.

The new centre forms part of the wider Rosegreen Community Centre development and is the latest addition to local sporting and recreational facilities in the area.

The facility includes a modern exercise room and a dedicated studio space for activities such as spinning, yoga, pilates and other wellness classes. It is designed to promote physical fitness, mental wellbeing and social connection for people of all ages.

Independent councillor Liam Browne said the opening marked an important occasion for the area.

He said: “Yesterday evening marked a truly special milestone for my second home, with the official opening of the new Gym and Wellness Centre at Nijinsky Park, Rosegreen Community Centre.”

He added that the development reflects years of community effort, saying: “The long-anticipated facility is the latest chapter in an incredible development journey and reflects a shared vision for health, wellbeing and community life in Rosegreen.”

The event was attended by a large crowd, with MC Pat Cummins outlining progress made in recent years and paying tribute to volunteers involved in the project.

It was noted that more than €1.5 million has been raised in total to support development works in Rosegreen, with acknowledgement given to local households who supported fundraising efforts in the early stages.

The Rosegreen Community Centre Development Committee was praised for its work in delivering a range of facilities at Nijinsky Park, including an extended community hall, upgraded kitchen and childcare facilities, improved pitches, astro turf and a floodlit walking track.

The centre was officially opened by Marie Devitt, Cashel Person of the Year, and Munster rugby player Declan Barron.

Councillor Browne said the occasion reflected strong community cooperation. He stated: “This was a real celebration of ambition, unity and belief in a healthier, brighter future for Rosegreen. Well done to everyone involved.”
