New one-way system in Tipperary Town will be in place from today to facilitate roadworks

Construction works will take eight months to complete
A leaflet drop to stakeholders, residents and businesses advising of a change in traffic operation on the N74 Fr Mathew Street in Tipperary Town to a one-way system from June 17 has taken place.
The new system will be operational for approximately 8 months to facilitate completion of construction works on the N74 between the Bansha Road roundabout and the junction with the Knockanrawley Road.
The one-way system entails:
• As at present, all traffic travelling from Tipperary town towards Cashel will continue to travel along Fr. Mathew Street within a single lane.
• All traffic approaching Tipperary town from the Cashel direction will be diverted to travel to the Bansha Road by turning left, after St. Michael’s Cemetery, onto the Knockanrawley Road
• Alternative parking areas for residents, affected by the works, will be provided and will be advised as the works progress.
"I have asked for details of mitigating measures for the Pearse Park /Knockanrawley Road and to ensure that they are kept abrief of decisions that affect them," said Cllr Annemarie Ryan.
